Instead of seeking sponsorship and bearing their "largish bandwidth-wasting panel
jokes" and still wanting something to make our site not unlike other said "more
professional" looking sites, we were reminded of pointless and unfunny 'banner
ads' we've had to endure since 'capos' have taken over the asylum. We decided to
let Professor Halfwit create " 'communication' assets that look like 'Banner
Ads' but aren't " just to irritate opportunistic ad developers. We consider the
creation of endless envy, bad tasteless jokes and crappy jingles is insulting to
every-one and we can't see why every-one doesn't feel likewise. Oh well...
hopefully, they will catch on soon (BEFORE we destroy the planet, the animals
and our great achievements ).
After considering JavaScript, file-size and load-time, which in turn
determined an optimal 'display size', we found that our " ...not wanting to
support opportunistic ideologies... " policy (and 'script blocking' as
an ms I.E. default) prevented us from using scripting to control the page.
Unfortunately, even though we tried for the contrary (a mid sized peripheral amusement), it looks like, smells like and has now become just
blatant 'anti-advertising' advertising.
This page is the whole collection so far - So (depending on your connection
speed) it may take a while to get them all up and running, go make refreshments; it won't be
